Cardiac conditions in obstetric care: Designing and Activating a Multidisciplinary "Pregnancy Heart Team"

Ann M Bruno, MD MS, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) at University of Utah Health, maps out the communication pathwasy and roles between Obstetrics, MFM, Cardiology, and Obstetric Anesthesia. She also discusses how hospitals can communicate across these departments to build effective teams, including outreach to cardiology and emergency departments, and assess the capacity of different levels of maternal care.
