Get Oral Health Care

Taking care of your oral health while you are pregnant is important for you and your baby. Your body goes through a lot of changes during pregnancy, including changes in the mouth. These changes can lead to gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) which may cause periodontal disease or tooth loss if left untreated. Going to the dentist during pregnancy can prevent these complications. It is safe, important, and recommended to get dental care before delivery and continuously every 6 months after. In the State of Utah, Medicaid covers dental services during pregnancy and up to sixty days after delivery. To receive the best care at your dental visits, tell the dental office you are pregnant and when you are due.
