• A website to search for diapers as well as financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or affordable services.

SNAP

• SNAP offers assistance to buy healthy food.
• Most households must spend some of their own cash along with their SNAP benefits to buy the food they need.
• If there is a pregnant woman or a child five years old or younger in your home, the Women, Infant, Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) may also be able to help with food and teaching about nutrition. Go to this WIC link to find out more or locate your local WIC office below.
• SNAP (food stamps) is okay for noncitizen families  to use, as long as there are some citizens in the family, or a few other instances explained here. SNAP benefits only account for the number of family members who are citizens.

Utah State Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program

• Provides specific nutritious food supplements to pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women and to infants and children up to five years of age who have been determined to be at nutritional risk because of inadequate nutrition and income. 
• Income below 185% of the federal poverty level.

Who is WIC for

• Pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to their 5th birthday. 
• Qualification is based on household size and income; unborn babies are included in household size. 
• WIC will not ask about citizenship or documentation status.
• Interpretation services are available at all clinics. 

What WIC provides

• Nutrition education.
• Breastfeeding support.
• Nutritious foods.
• Participants receive  an eWIC card to purchase healthy food items at certain grocery stores. Most major grocery stores accept WIC.
• Healthcare resources; lower cost medical, dental, and social services. 

How to qualify

• Must meet income eligibility guidelines. 
  • If you have Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, your income already qualifies. 
• Apply for WIC here. 
• A qualified WIC professional will check your height, weight, and iron, then discuss your nutrition and health.
• Every three months, you will go back to the clinic to receive nutrition education and food benefits.

Must bring

• Proof of identification, address, and income, see the approved documents to bring.
• Immunization records of the children.
• Women, children, and infants who are applying for WIC must be present at the appointment.
• WIC will not ask for a Social Security Number to apply.
