Birth trauma support - Online support group (Postpartum Support International)

  • Every Monday at 10:00 a.m. (MST)
  • 2nd Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. (MST)
  • Led by trained peer facilitators, this group is for anyone who has experienced trauma (mental or physical) during childbirth. This group is specifically focused on birth trauma and connecting with others, so you can know that you are not alone, and you are not to blame. While your story has so much value, birth story details will not be explored as they could be triggering to others. We encourage you to contact a licensed healthcare provider to process your birth story.

Support groups for specific outcomes

Stillbirth and Infant Loss Support for Parents

  • Losing a baby can be an isolating and devastating experience. This support group is for parents who have experienced stillbirth or early infant loss. This group provides support and connection to other parents who have experienced a similar loss. Some of the topics discussed in this group are the process of grief, different ways of grieving/mourning, honoring our babies, birth trauma, and the isolation of loss. This group is led by trained peer facilitators who have also experienced stillbirth or infant loss. You are not alone, and this group is here to help.

NICU Mothers Support Group (local to Utah)

  • Led by a NICU and other ICU survivor, this support group offers support with navigating your time in the NICU, support from others who have since graduated from the NICU, explore the feelings and emotions surrounding life in the NICU, and support advocating for your needs and your baby's needs.

NICU Postpartum Parents Online Support Group (national)

  • Led by trained Postpartum Support International (PSI) facilitators, this online NICU group is for parents of babies who are currently or formerly in the NICU up to two years of age. You'll connect with others who have experienced the uniquely stressful environment of a NICU.
  • Every Thursday 4:30 p.m. (MST)

Find help for depression and anxiety during pregnancy and postpartum (after birth), including specialists in birth trauma.  The Utah Maternal Mental Health Referral Network is a directory of professionals and support groups with training in perinatal mental health (perinatal means during pregnancy and postpartum).
